Reporting on location at Celosphere 2023 in Munich, analysts Tom Smith and Kieron Allen share their experiences after engaging with Celonis customers, executives, and partners. Kieron highlights a panel session on decarbonizing the supply chain, and Tom discusses insights from Symbio, Allianz, and PepsiCo.
Highlights
00:42 — Celosphere has been full of energy. Kieron attended a panel session about decarbonizing the supply chain, led by Janina Bauer, the global head of sustainability. Ultimately, the supply chain is one of the most carbon-heavy processes in any organization.
01:19 — As such, Celonis launched two sustainability applications last year. The applications resulted in a 70% reduction in distance traveled by delivery. Celonis is also launching a new sustainability application, the Materials Emissions app. It hits three core areas, measuring Scope 3 emissions, acting on that data, and recommending opportunities where companies can reduce those emissions.
02:44 — Tom met with Oliver Zeller, CEO of Symbio, which Celonis has acquired. Symbio is highly system agnostic, a big objective Celonis has outlined for its products. Symbio has a tight integration with Microsoft Teams. It opens the door to a lot more integration that is more broadly focused around the Microsoft platforms.
03:37 — Tom also heard from the CEO of Allianz group, Oliver Bäte. It was very interesting to get that C-level perspective. He talked about process mining as a way for Allianz to make sure its processes serve the customer.
04:23 — Another highlight was a session by Chris Knapik of PepsiCo, and Tom also got to spend some time with Chris. One of Chris’ passions is how you build your organization to optimize your results with process mining. It was a standing-room-only session, and the cameras were going off at every slide you put up. So that told Tom this is a real hot button with customers.
