In episode 30 of the Acceleration Economy Minute, Kieron Allen explains how to ensure technology becomes a business enabler by performing ongoing evaluations.

Highlights

00:14 — Acceleration Economy CISO Analyst Frank Domizio recently published an analysis on how to position cybersecurity as a business enabler. Within his analysis, Frank discussed the concept of tracking work to ensure systems and employees are performing the tasks they should be.

00:34 — The idea of tracking work can be applied to the larger business ecosystem in terms of business technology. When viewing a technology stack, it is important to consider what the technology is doing and evaluate how well — or not — it is working. Evaluation is key in ensuring that technology is working and worth the investment.

00:52 — The idea of tracking work is an ongoing evaluation and is what turns technology into business enablers. When viewing a piece of technology across an entire technology stack, if it is determined that something is not working optimally, it is time to get rid of the technology.

01:34 — Ongoing evaluations are important to cybersecurity — and all aspects of a business — from a security perspective as well as a profit perspective.
