00:40 — Rubrik Zero Labs, the dedicated research and analysis arm of Rubrik, released its latest report on data security. The research includes responses from 1,600 CIOs, CISOs, vice presidents, and directors of IT and security.

00:58 — 96% of respondents described themselves as concerned that their organization would be unable to maintain business following a cyber attack. And 72% reported paying in response to a ransomware demand. However, only 16% of organizations recovered all their data.
01:29 — 93% of organizations reported encountering significant issues with their backup and recovery efforts and nine out of 10 said malicious actors attempted to access data backups during a cyber attack.
01:45 — Additional findings:
- 56% of organizations currently employ at least one zero-trust initiative
- 56% of IT and security leaders developed or reviewed an incident response plan in 2022, while 54% tested backup and recovery options
- 47% of IT and security leaders believe their 2023 cybersecurity budget does not represent a large enough investment
- 27% expect their IT and cybersecurity budgets to decrease this year
