How Bunzl Used Netalogue to Scale Their B2B eCommerce Strategy

Business Need – Finding a Scalable B2B eCommerce Platform

Bunzl is a multinational global sourcing and distribution company for a wide range of goods and services. However, Bunzl struggled with meeting the demands of its ever-growing consumer base. As a result, the company needed to find a scalable B2B eCommerce platform that could easily be deployed to all their customers, such as Nike, John Lewis, Co-Operate, and Boots.

Technology Solution – Netalogue for B2B eCommerce

TrueCommerce offers software solutions to help businesses easily integrate multiple services across the supply chain, including its B2B eCommerce platform. Over a thousand businesses use TrueCommerce products to accelerate deliveries and streamline the shipping process. Netalogue is one of the most popular services from TrueCommerce due to its customizability and ease of use. A few of the highlights of using Netalogue include customer-specific online catalogs, personalization, product kits, mobile responsive, and customer self-service.

Bunzl decided to implement Netalogue after conducting comprehensive benchmarking exercises to ensure the platform best matches their needs. For example, the Netalogue platform could easily handle all of its advanced features for eCommerce while also providing Sage X3 integration functions.

Making it easy for each client to find and order the right product was a top priority at Bunzl. While Netalogue includes many complex B2B eCommerce features for customer self-service and e-procurement, the client-side of this platform is as simple as a typical B2C online website without the need for any additional user training. The speed of deployment for such a comprehensive e-commerce solution was a major selling point of Netalogue.

Accelerated Delivery Process

Netalogue went live in only four months from the time of order. One reason for such an accelerated delivery process is Netalogue being pre-engineered. Bunzi used the prototype within two weeks of the initial order and immediately began customizing content to prepare for launch.

The Netalogue eCommerce platform gave Bunzl access to many advanced features to help them gain an edge in the market. Netalogue also offers quarterly updates to the platform to continue to provide innovative options. These updates play a key role in helping businesses take advantage of new features as soon as they become available.

Results – Improve Sales Growth and Lower Costs

Implementing Netalogue was an excellent investment for Bunzl, as it made it much easier for customers to place orders by using this platform. As a result, many of the clients consistently placed larger orders, which resulted in significant sales growth. The automation of customer service and sales functions also minimized costs. In addition, business intelligence provided detailed reports to improve management and better meet the needs of clients.

Integrating with Sage X3 also created a streamlined business process, which allowed information to flow freely and it reduced the amount of time for training or administration tasks. In addition, the accelerated delivery of the B2B eCommerce platform kept project costs to a minimum while also offering the highest return on investment.
