Top Three Ways to Increase Security in Dynamics 365 for Manufacturers

By increasing security through policies, manufacturers can optimize and maintain licensing, user management, and work with a more reliable system. Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain Management enables security and compliance functions which use modern day digital transformation to decrease internal data theft and other malicious use of data. By using D365, manufacturers can minimize security problems which can lead to financial loss and the deterioration of customer/vendor relationships. Further, protecting sensitive data ensures that jobs will be completed without errors and potential data misuse. In this blog post, we will be discussing the top three ways to increase security in Dynamics 365 for manufacturers.

1. Avoid Data Misuse and Internal Fraud

Limit user rights and use multi-factor authentication (MFA) in order to easily and effectively increase security in your organization. By authentication through 2-step verification, you can avoid data misuse and internal fraud. Through MFA, you can combine two or more factors including passwords and codes to verify your identity and protect against information breaches. Additionally, restricting user access and limiting admin access can lower exposure and minimize risks of being targeted by hacker or cyber criminals. Privileged identity management works to control user access and length of access for baseline protection and higher admin security.

2. Manage Changing Security Needs

Process changing and modifying access requests easily by using automatic control features which track user activity and roles. Security and compliance studio enables you to increase traceability of security changes in your system while matching security roles for full coverage of the recorded working process. Any missing terms of access within security roles or user privileges can be easily tracked in order to protect your cyber environment. Further, by analyzing such reports by setting up security roles, you can ensure security of sensitive information while staying up-to-date with dynamic security needs.

3. Perform Quick and Detailed Security Audits

Reduce time spent on internal IT audits by utilizing dynamic access of security data relevant to understanding your business system. By tracking such data, manufacturers get a historic and current list of data which aids in the compliance with business standards and industry regulations. Data loss prevention policies or DLP policies ensure that sensitive information stays within your organization while preventing the sharing of such information accidentally. By monitoring and protecting sensitive files, you can keep data confidential and perform quick and detailed security audits while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
