More than 11 billion tons of waste are produced worldwide every year. Today, most businesses have adopted lean strategies to make their manufacturing processes more efficient. Microsoft Dynamics 365 can help you to reduce waste when manufacturing products by reducing the carbon emissions that come from the creation, distribution and disposal of waste. By recognizing the need to protect the world’s ecosystems, you can set goals to to reuse, repurpose, or recycle compost, electronics, construction, and other hazardous wastes. In this blog post, we will be discussing three ways you can reduce waste when manufacturing products through D365.

1. Avoid Overproduction:

Buy only the equipment your business needs and avoid creating more product than you can sell by using proper inventory control, efficient management, and accurate timelines. Through Microsoft Dynamics for Supply Chain Management, you can integrate process manufacturing workflows and adjust production schedules in order to eliminate waste. Further, the technology solution can help you accomplish waste reduction goals through capacity loadings, utilize automation to drive production, and create organized manufacturing plans so that you can fully understand the costs of each factory activity.

2. Use Lean Manufacturing:

Strive to eliminate waste wherever and whenever possible by applying the concept of lean manufacturing to every aspect of your business. From accounting to payroll, there are endless ways to utilize a systematic method for waste minimization within a manufacturing system without sacrificing productivity. Dynamics 365 allows you to streamline every business process and helps you to follow the entire manufacturing process of a product/service. The integrated software creates a factory consisting of unprecedented levels of efficiency and the elimination of non-value-add activities.

3. Keep Perspective:

Maintain customer satisfaction by setting clear objectives and initiatives to guide your business through a common goal. Microsoft Dynamics ensures that each employee is part of a cohesive team through efficient communication, real-time data analytics, and companywide productivity efforts. Through this collective aim, businesses can increase profits by making sure customer satisfaction is high. This can be done by focusing on activities which add value from the customer’s perspective. For example, by reducing costs for customers, you can increase your business’s competitiveness in the market. By balancing customer perspective and lean manufacturing methods, you can increase your product value, customer satisfaction, employee effectiveness, and sales.
