Highlights
Innovation (00:36)

Based in the United Kingdom, the AI data analytics startup Fluent raised a $7.5 million round of funding to revolutionize how businesses interact with their data using AI. It focuses on using AI-based language models to simplify data queries, making them accessible to non-technical users. The Fluent platform is known for its ability to deliver insights efficiently and accurately.
One of Fluent’s key strategies is its partnerships with industry leaders, including Bain and Company. End customers benefit from these collaborations, as they get the technology from Fluent as well as the support and implementation expertise of a large consultancy.
Funding (03:17)

Databricks, known for its data management offerings, has acquired Lilac, a young AI company. Lilac has built a tool that enables data teams to search, analyze, cluster, and manage unstructured text datasets, with an emphasis on datasets used for large language model (LLM) pre-training and fine-tuning. Lilac has built its own tool with mitigating toxic data in mind, which has been one of its core priorities.
The integration of Lilac into the Databricks ecosystem accelerates customers’ development of their own GenAI models and data pipelines. Lilac can also be used to evaluate LLM outputs and filter retrieval augmented generation (RAG) data.
