The AI startup Cognition announced a fully autonomous AI-based software engineer called Devon. This copilot is designed to handle projects end-to-end. It can ingest natural language project briefs and requests, translate them into a list of tasks that it has to do, and write code itself. Devon can debug code, test code, and produce a finished product. It can perform more complex tasks such as fine-tuning other AI models and learning from non-code sources like blog posts.

Codeium raised $65 million in Series B funding for its AI-based code-writing system. It built its own hardware on which its models were trained and deployed. The startup takes a unique approach to its cogeneration system with two key differentiators:
- It’s heavily focused on security. It doesn’t store customer code or use it for retraining.
- The company meets developers where they are. By partnering with over 70 IDEs, Codeium enables cogeneration within developer environments directly.

AI-powered HR tech platform Gojob is focused on helping companies with temp worker hiring. Acceleration Economy recently had a conversation with the company’s founder and CEO Pascal Lorne and COO Benjamin Vallat to discuss the work Gojob has been doing. GoJob developed a platform based on AI that’s a turnkey system for large businesses needing to hire staff, making the process more reliable, more capital efficient, and easier for job candidates.
Candidates interact with an AI-powered chatbot that asks questions and inputs information about the candidate. The chat interface will get to know the candidates to make relevant recommendations and it keeps the candidates informed in real-time on the status of their application. On the business side, organizations can input their needs and Gojob uses machine learning to connect them with the right candidates.
