Use to-the-minute information on company movement to efficiently manage inventory. Dynamics 365 for Supply Chain Management lets you determine how and when inventory moves, and in what quantity. This way, you can order just the right quantity of goods and efficiently manage operating capital. By utilizing real-time visibility and improving inventory levels, you can maintain an optimum level of inventory and plan deliveries effectively. D365 helps you to cut costs and improve efficiency across the supply chain, while simultaneously giving you unprecedented control over orders in transit.

Benefits of Effective Asset Inventory Management

Investing in an inventory management system yields excellent ROI. Not only does an inventory management system make it easier to get your products to the customers who want them, but it can also provide valuable insights so that you’re ordering the right inventory at the right time and in the right quantities.

  • Cutting costs: Order inventory in the right quantities at the right time so that you’re never over-or under-stocked.
  • Maximizing labor: More productivity and less time wasted looking for missing items or tracking things by hand.
  • Saving space: Well-managed stock leads to more efficient and organized warehouses.
  • Happier customers: Orders ship faster and are more accurate, leading to satisfied customers and upheld service level agreements.

Manage Inbound and Outbound Flows

Transportation Management in Microsoft D365 allows you to manage transportation and identify vendor/routing solutions for inbound and outbound orders. For example, you can identify the fastest route or the cheapest rate for a shipment. To handle inventory flow into and out of a warehouse location to a customer, you can create loads. You can also pick, put, and pack for outbound orders using Dynamics on a device. The inbound load process starts when there is a demand for specific items that must be shipped from a vendor to a company’s warehouse. An outbound load can be modified by adding a new sales or transfer line. If the shipping route of a sales line matches an existing load, you can add it to the existing load.

Inventory Management

Inventory management in D365 for Supply Chain Management manages inventory levels, orders, sales, and deliveries. Its purpose is to maintain an optimal inventory level, track goods during transport, receive new items, manage warehouse processes, and ensure products are in stock.  Inventory management automates what used to be a time-consuming process of counting each item one by one and recording it on paper. Core capabilities include inventory optimization, product identification and tracking, service management, and asset tracking. D365 provides accurate data on inventory conditions in real-time and gives you insights into trends so that you can respond to changing market demands and conditions without losing out on sales opportunities.
