Founded in 1992, Logan Consulting focuses serving clients through consultations. Supporting clients in North America and availability to serve worldwide, they provide consultations from management to information technology perspectives. As they help various clients, they face various situations. One example was a client needing assistance improving their supply chain management amid their digital transformation.
Business Opportunity
The client was using a custom version of Epicor. It was beginning to slow their ability to progress within their digital transformation journey. The company needed a more modern software platform that offered additional choices. In addition to this, they wanted a software that provided more agility and more speed to market. Multiple acquisitions resulted in rapid growth across the globe. So, the client needed a single platform to implement new business units.
Initially, the client chose another partner. However, things did not go as planned. After its first partner did not work out, the client then hired Logan Consulting. This was primarily to help manage the project while also implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain Management. This partnership allowed them to work directly with the project manager, subject matter experts, and business analysts.
Software Solution – Microsoft Dynamics 365
The project initially began in July 2018, and each of the sites went live in February 2021. So, Logan Consulting developed a strong relationship with the client throughout the entire project. One of the main focuses was on improving automation in as many areas as possible. Instead of cutting costs, the top goal was to build a better and more effective employee experience that would also result in an even better customer experience.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain Management was used for all the business processes. However, other software solutions were also implemented. For instance, they implemented Cortera, Adaptive Insights, Office 365, Power Platform, MHX and MH2Go, Transportation Management System, Concur for Expense Management, and Workspaces in Dynamics 365.
Final Results
This client started off primarily needing help implementing a software solution to improve their supply chain management. Logan Consulting was able to not only advise them with this improvement but assist in implementing other software solutions for additional problems they faced as well.
With Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain Management was ultimately a great option for this client. It resulted in various benefits for them. These advantages included replacing ERP licensing and maintenance. This had created difficulties in offering agility and choice for the client.
In addition to this, the client was able to move business operations to the cloud. This eliminated the potential danger of hardware or software failure. This decision to use this software empowered each employee to be even more engaged with various activities. The implementation of sales orders made it possible for clients to think more about their orders. This also enabled them to sell multiple units.
Transitioning to Microsoft Dynamics 365 assisted in their ongoing efforts for digital transformation. All of these different benefits made it possible for the client to improve supply chain management and create a much smoother experience for both their employees and customers.
