Executive Overview

One of the pacesetters in the AI agent and copilot development race is Microsoft, which this quarter alone has outlined dozens of new products: agents and copilots, as well as tooling for management, security, analytics, and more.

This report presents about two dozen of the most significant of those products. It also takes a deep dive into positioning of copilots and agents by top Microsoft executives, along with their perspectives on the AI opportunity. Then we present five case studies of customers who are at varying stages of deploying and using copilots. Our case studies cover a range of industries including financial services, healthcare, and manufacturing. One thing they all share: use of copilots isn’t limited to “starter” applications such as meeting summaries and pre-written emails.

This report has been developed as pre-event analysis for the AI Copilot Summit taking place March 17-19 and it aligns with one of the event’s four primary themes: Using Copilots in Microsoft Business Apps.
